Wang Pong District
Amphoe Wang Pong ( Thai อำเภอ วัง โป่ง ) is a district ( Amphoe - Administrative District) Phetchabun province. The Phetchabun province located in the southeastern part of the northern region of Thailand.
Geography
Amphoe Wang Pong is located in the west of Phetchabun province and is bordered from the north clockwise as seen from Mueang Phetchabun to Chon Daen and in the province of Phetchabun, Thap Khlo in the province of Phichit and Noen Maprang in the province of Phitsanulok.
History
Originally called the area of Ban Wang Din Pong. Amphoe Wang Pong emerged from a split from three Tambon Chon Daen from Amphoe, namely Wang Pong, Thai and Dong Sap Poep that on 1 December 1983 as King Amphoe (small district) were summarized.
On 21 May 1990, the small district was promoted to a Amphoe.
Management
Amphoe Wang Pong consists of five sub-districts ( tambon), which further into 58 villages ( Muban ) are divided.
There are two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:
- Wang Pong ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล วัง โป่ง ) consists of parts of the tambon Wang Pong,
- Thai Dong ( Thai: เทศบาล ตำบล ท้าย ดง ) consists of parts of the tambon Thai Dong.
There are also five " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
