Wangelnstedt is a municipality in the district of Minden wood in Lower Saxony ( Germany ) and belongs to Samtgemeinde Eschershausen City Oldendorf.

Geography

Location

Wangelnstedt is located just north of the Solling. The community is located east of the City Oldendorf between the mountain ranges Elfas in the Northeast, Office mountains in the south, the wooden mountain in the southwest and the Homburg forest in the northwest. The municipality is drained by the upper reaches of the Lenne.

Except Wangelnstedt still belong to the community the districts Denkiehausen, Emmer Born and Linnenkamp.

Neighboring communities

In the southwest Wangelnstedt borders Heinade, on the west by the city Oldendorf, on the north by Lenne and Eimen as well as the east and south to the city of Dassel (Landkreis Northeim ).

History

Pictures wanted

Wangelnstedt was first mentioned in 1251 as Wanhelist in connection with a foundation of Henry of Luthardessen to the monastery Amelungsborn. From Homburger owned the village came to the Principality of Brunswick- Wolfenbüttel, where it was managed by the Office of Homburg. At the time of Feud of Soest it was destroyed and was several decades desolate. Under Henry II took place in 1518 as a parish of the rebuild.

Incorporations

On November 20, 1972, the municipalities Wangelnstedt, Linne Kamp, Emmer Born and Denkiehausen decided by January 1, 1973 their merger under the community name Wangelnstedt.
