Bug ( Walloon: Wonse ) is a French-speaking community in Belgium and is located in the province of Liège, Wallonia.

Since the amalgamation of the municipalities is the community bug from the six villages Antheit, Bas -Oha, Huccorgne, Moha, Vinalmont and bug and the hamlet of Longpré. The average population density is relatively high ( 301 inhabitants / km ² ), but varies greatly from place to place. So, in bug and Antheit large construction sites, in Huccorgne and Vinalmont contrast, the presence of rural areas. Also for the economic activity shows the place two faces: semi-industrial areas in the vicinity of the sugar confectionery location in bug and the bioethanol plant " Biowanze " (under construction), a further operation of limestone quarries, but also large areas of agricultural character.

Geography

Bug is in the valley of the Meuse, in Haspengau in Arrondissement of Huy, at the same distance (26 km) of Liege and Namur. The town of Huy is immediately adjacent to the south.

The municipality is located in the countryside Burdinale Mehaigne. A part of this area is part of the Natural Park of the valleys Burdinale and the Mehaigne.

District Moha

In the district of Moha is one of the oldest medieval fortresses in Belgium. It is situated on a rocky promontory above the river Mehaigne. Moha was part of the old Prince-Bishopric of Liège and was its name until the 13th century an independent county.

Traffic

A good six kilometers north is the nearest motorway exit Huy- Fumal on the Belgian motorway A15 ( European route 42). In Bug is a regional railway station on the railway line Namur -Liège; in Namur and Liege, keep on regional express trains.

The Liège Airport, a regional airport, located about 17 kilometers away, is at Brussels International Airport Zaventem.
