Wao, Lanao del Sur

Wao (Filipino: Bayan ng Wao ) is a Philippine municipality in the province of Lanao del Sur, Autonomous Region in Muslim Administrative Region of Mindanao. It has 40 479 inhabitants ( census May 1, 2010 ) living in 26 barangays. Classified as a congregation of the second income class in the Philippines and as a partially urbanized.

Wao is located in the southwest of the province, about 254 kilometers by road south-east of Marawi City, at the foot of the volcano Ragang. Your neighboring municipalities are Kalilangan and Pangantucan in the east, Bumbaran the northwest, Banisilan and Alamada in the south.
