Wapelfeld
Wapelfeld is a municipality in the district of Rendsburg -Eckernförde in Schleswig -Holstein.
Geography and transport
The municipality is situated on the Wapelfeld Haaler Au, a small river that drains along with the Papenau the higher areas in the near Akrug Nature Park. The Federal Highway 430 from Neumünster to Federal Highway 23 runs past Wapelfeld. In the near Hohenwestedt consists rail connection ( route Neumünster - Heide). From 1901 to 1957 was Wapelfeld station Rendsburgerstrasse circular path.
History
1248 the village was first mentioned in a document as forest land without the standing water.
Policy
The voters Community KWG since the municipal election 2013, all nine seats in the municipal council.

Personalities
The agricultural chemist Richard Thun (1899-1945) was born in Wapelfeld.
