Ward, New Zealand

Ward is a town in the Marlborough region on the South Island of New Zealand, near the mouth of Flaxbourne River in the Pacific Ocean. State Highway 1 passes through the town, to the north lie the two lakes Lake Elterwater and Lake Grassmere and the city Seddon, in the south is the town of Clarence.

The colonization of the area by immigrants took place from 1847, today the place is situated in New Zealand's largest wine region. In census 2006 903 inhabitants were counted.

Ward is connected to the rail network of the Main North Line, the traveling on the passenger train TranzCoastal doing there but not station. The nearest stop is located in Seddon.
