Warmachine

Warmachine is a tabletop game published in 2002 by the American company Privateer Press.

Against the background of the Iron Kingdoms Warmachine plays in a progressive fantasy world in which, in addition to the common elements such as magic, fantasy races and dragons, powered by steam engines of war, the warjacks, play an essential role. This form warjacks controlled by powerful War Mage, called Warcaster, also the core of a Warmachine army.

Compared to other tabletop systems like Warhammer is played in Warmachine with relatively few models. The entry size is usually from three to six models, 40 models and more already represent major battles. Due to the small number of models Warmachine achieved fast gameplay, so that a game of average size already in just over an hour can be played. In addition, used the game system Game cards containing all the values ​​and special rules of the models and thus make for a lot of players annoying rulebook reference superfluous, as the player in this way everything important as values ​​and special rules " on hand " has.

Since 2006, a sister game system, Hordes, which is compatible with Warmachine exists. In January 2010, a new edition of Warmachine, which is officially called Mk.II appeared.

The Magazine " No Quarter " in each issue contains new rules for characters or units. It is published bimonthly and contains and Professional Painting Basteltips occasionally experimental rules.
