Warrap (state)

( Also written Warap, Arabic واراب, DMG Warab ) Warrap, is a state in southern Sudan.

History

Warrap was removed on 14 February 1994 as a separate state of Bahr al - Ghazal. According to opponents of the Sudanese government of the new State was established as a concession to George Kongor Arop, the second vice president was in that year and comes from the village Warrap.

From 1919 to 1948 this area was part of the province of Equatoria and from 1948 to 1976 the province of Bahr al - Ghazal, which was split from Equatoria in 1948.
