Warren B. Offutt
Warren B. Offutt ( born February 13, 1928) is an American retired engineer, amateur astronomer and discoverer of asteroids.
In the period between 1996 and 1997, he discovered to his private W & B Observatory in Cloudcroft, New Mexico a total of 16 asteroids.
His observation of the Sycorax later named Uranus moon contributed significantly to precise orbit determination thereof.
The asteroid ( 7639 ) Offutt was named on the occasion of his 70th birthday after him.
