Warren County (Kentucky)

Warren County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Bowling Green.

Geography

The County is located in southwestern Kentucky, is located in the south about 25 km from the state of Tennessee and has an area of ​​1419 square kilometers, of which six square kilometers of water surface. It is bordered clockwise to the following counties: Butler County, Edmonson County, Barren County, Allen County, Simpson County and Logan County.

History

Warren County was formed on December 14, 1796 from parts of Logan County. It was named after General Joseph Warren, who fell at the battle of Bunker Hill.

At Western Kentucky University:

  • In Bowling Green, the historic Health Buildings -Gymnasium is located (also known as Helm Library). The building is located on Normal Drive, on the campus of Western Kentucky University. Demographic data
