Warren County (Mississippi)

The Warren County is a county located in the U.S. state of Mississippi. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Vicksburg, which was named after Newitt Vick, an early settler of the area.

History

The Warren County was formed on December 22, 1809 from the Natchez District. It was named for Joseph Warren (1741-1775), a military officer who was killed at the battle of Bunker Hill.
