Warren E. Burger

Warren Earl Burger ( born September 17, 1907 in Saint Paul, Minnesota, † June 25, 1995 in Washington, DC) was an American lawyer and the 15th Chief Justice of the United States. He headed the Supreme Court, succeeding Earl Warren from 1969 to 1986; earlier, he was Judge of the Federal Circuit Court for the district of Washington DC been. In his tenure, major decisions on issues of abortion, capital punishment and equality. His successor was William H. Rehnquist. His final resting place is the Arlington National Cemetery.
