Warren Norris

Warren Norris ( born September 19, 1974 in St. John's, Newfoundland ) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player who played on the position of the center.

Career

Norris began his professional hockey career in the team from the University of Massachusetts in the National Collegiate Athletic Association and changed in 1996 in the American Hockey League. In the late 1990s he was appointed twice to the Canadian National Team, where he recorded 53 points in 73 games. After several years in the International Hockey League, he ventured in 2000 to move to Europe, played for the British Club Sheffield Steelers and the Slovak club HC Slovan Bratislava before he came 2003 on the Graz 99ers, where he quickly became a crowd favorite.

The 2004/05 season was his most successful. He scored 40 goals in 44 games and made so that the season record. After 2006, HC Lugano reinforced in the playoffs, he came to the EC KAC. His first season for the new club was still patchy, in 2007 /08 he was able to show his qualities again, so that the EC KAC extended the contract with him in the spring of 2008 for a further two years. Along with Greg Hager, he was dangerous in the season 2007 / 08 mainly also outnumbered and brought it to a total of two shorthanded goals and three such templates. In the 2008 /09 season he was with the EC KAC Austrian Hockey champion. For the 2009/10 season he returned to Graz 99ers, for the links shooter was still active and two seasons after ending his professional career.

  • His older brother is Dwayne Norris, who actively played in the DEL until the end of the season 2007/ 08.
  • In the season 2005/ 06 Warren Norris was checked on 15 October 2005 during a home game against the Graz 99ers the EC Red Bull Salzburg by Patrick Harand against the gang. He still had to be artificially ventilated on the ice and was taken to hospital as soon as possible with a respiratory paralysis and a concussion. His recovery took three months to complete.
