Warren R. Porter

Warren Reynolds Porter ( born March 30, 1861 in Santa Cruz, California, † August 27, 1927 in Watsonville, California ) was an American politician. Between 1907 and 1911 he was Deputy Governor of the State of California.

Career

Warren Reynolds attended St. Augustine College in Benicia and beat after a long career in the banking industry, a, in which his father had already worked. He started as an accountant and rose up to the board of some banks. After the death of his father in 1900 he became president of the Pajaro Valley Bank in its successor. From 1886 to 1888 he also led a company in the timber industry. Politically, he joined the Republican Party. In the presidential election of 1900, he was one of the electors who voted for President William McKinley in his second term.

1906 Porter was elected to the side of James Gillett for Lieutenant Governor of California. This post he held 1907-1911. Yet he was Deputy Governor and Chairman of the State Senate. After his time as Lieutenant Governor, he continued to work in the banking industry. He died on 27 August 1927 in Watsonville.
