The Warren Township is one of 23 townships in Jo Daviess County in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Illinois.

Geography

The Warren Township is in the northwest of Illinois at Wisconsin border. The border with Iowa, which is formed from the Mississippi River, located approximately 40 km to the west.

The Warren Township is located at 42 ° 28'57 " north latitude and 90 ° 01'15 " west longitude and extending over 51.05 km ².

The Warren Township is located in the north of Jo Daviess County, bordered on the east by the Nora Township, on the south by Rush Township and on the west by the Apple River Township. In the north of the Warren Township is adjacent to the Grant County in Wisconsin.

Traffic

Coming from Wisconsin, the Illinois State Route 78 leads in a north-south direction through the township. All other roads are County Roads and partly on unpaved secondary roads.

In the north crosses a railway line of the Canadian National Railway, the Warren Township.

The closest to you airfields are about 75 km to the west located in Iowa Dubuque Regional Airport, some 60 km north-west location Platteville Municipal Airport and the Albertus Airport in 55 km southeast to Freeport in Stephenson County.

Population

In the census in 2010, the township had 1601 inhabitants. Within the Warren Township there are in addition free community scattered settlement with Warren only an independent municipality ( with a status of "Village" ).
