The Warrick County is a county located in the U.S. state of Indiana. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Boonville.

Geography

The County is located in southwestern Indiana on the Ohio River, which forms the border with Kentucky. It has an area of 1,012 square kilometers, of which 18 square kilometers are water surface. At the Warrick County borders the following counties:

History

The Warrick County was formed on March 9, 1813 from parts of Knox County. It was named after Jacob Warrick (1773-1811), an officer who fell in the battle of Tippecanoe.
