Warringah Council

- 33.75151.28333333333Koordinaten: 33 ° 45 ' S, 151 ° 17' O Warringah Council is a Local Government Area ( LGA) in the Australian state of New South Wales. Warringah is part of the metropolis of Sydney, capital of New South Wales. The area is 150 km ² and has about 139,000 inhabitants.

Warringah is located in the north-east of Sydney on the Pacific coast and is about 10 to 25 km from the city center. The area includes 53 districts:

The administrative headquarters of the council is located in the district of Dee Why in the east of the LGA.

Management

The Warringah Council originally had nine members, who are elected by the residents of the LGA. Warringah is not subdivided into districts. From the circle of Councillor also recruited the Mayor (Mayor ) of the Council.

Because of allegations of corruption and mismanagement of the Council was dismissed in July 2003 by the state government and appointed an administrator as well as a four-member executive to manage the operations.
