Warsaw Business Journal

The Warsaw Business Journal is an English-language weekly newspaper based in Warsaw. The title is aimed at living in Poland expatriates and business travelers. It is published to economic, business and political issues. A special emphasis is placed on the real estate market. The newspaper is published in tabloid format and is consistently colored.

History

The newspaper was as a sister publication of the Budapest Business Journal of the media company New World Publishing (NWP ) founded in 1994 by the Americans Thom Barnhardt and Stephen O'Connor. Another sister publication was the Prague Business Journal, which was set in 2004. Obtained with an initially as a joint venture partner ( publisher of a trade magazine ) Warsaw entrepreneurs came shortly after the founding of the newspaper to inconsistencies. There was a dispute over several weeks and two issues of the title were each transferred ( by either party ) until NWP was able to prevail in parallel.

From 2002 onwards, there were problems with the Polish tax authorities. 2004 was after a restructuring of the Polish publisher and sale to the New World Publishing Polska Sp.zoo an agreement on the tax liabilities are met. In August 2004, the media company Valkea Media SA took over then the title. In addition, smaller other publications of the Polish NWP were transferred to the new owner. Under the new owners in 2005, the print run of 10,000 copies of the newspaper was initially increased to 15,000 copies. Also the distribution of the as yet largely widespread in the Warsaw region title was extended to the whole country.
