Warsaw School of Economics

The SzkoĹ Główna Handlowa w Warszawie (short SGH ), Warsaw School of Economics International (Latin Schola Princeps Scientiarum et Œconomicarum Commercii ) is a University of Economics in Warsaw.

History and acknowledgments

The university was founded on 13 October 1906 as a private August Zielinski trade school for men in Warsaw. In 1919 she was recognized as a university in 1933 and was followed by the change of name in SzkoĹ Główna Handlowa. After the Second World War, the previously private college was nationalized and was until 1990 the name SzkoĹ Główna Planowania i Statystyki.

It is the oldest and is considered the most prestigious business school in Poland. In the ranking of the 40 best European management master programs by Financial Times, the university was placed on the 31 site and 2008 at the 24th place in 2007.

Today the university in many European university cooperation as CEMS, Erasmus, EEA, Partnership in International Management (PIM ) is involved.
