Warwick Smith

Warwick Smith ( born June 1, 1971 in Perth ) is a Scottish curler.

Smith won his first medal at the World Championships in 1996 in Hamilton. As Skip he led his team to the finals, which they lost 2:6 against Canada.

1999 Smith was the first time curling world champion. The team of Hammy McMillan Skip won the final against Canada 6-5 stones for themselves. In the same year he also won the European Championship for the first time.

In the 2002 World Cup, he led his team in the U.S. Bismarck the bronze medal. The 3rd place match was won 6-5 against the United States. For the British Olympic Team Smith played on the position of the third at the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City. The team finished at the end of the seventh.

In 2005 he played in the team of David Murdoch at the European Championships in Germany and won the bronze medal.

His second World Cup title in 2006 celebrated Smith in the U.S. Lowell. Re playing for David Murdoch won the Scottish team against Canada with 7:4.

As Alternate Smith played at the Olympic Winter Games 2006 in Turin in Team Great Britain with skip David Murdoch, Third Craig Wilson, Second Ewan MacDonald and Euan Byers Lead. In the match for 3rd place, the British team in the U.S. to Skip Pete Fenson was defeated with 6:8 stones and finished at the end of the fourth.
