Washburn University

The Washburn University ( WU also called ) is a public, urban university in Topeka, Kansas. Currently, about 7,300 students are enrolled. The university maintains a partnership to the University of Klagenfurt and is part of the Magellan Exchange, an international student exchange program.

History

The college was founded in 1865 as Lincoln College. In 1868 it was renamed Washburn College to a large donation from the industrialist Ichabod Washburn.

Sports

The sports teams of the WU are the Ichabods ( men) and Lady Blues ( women).
