Washington County is a county located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Oregon with 499 794 inhabitants (2005 ), so it is by number of inhabitants, the second largest of the 36 counties in Oregon. The the county seat ( county seat ) is located in Hillsboro.

According to the census of 2000, there were 445 342 people in the county. There were 169 162 households and 114 015 families. The population density was 238 people per square kilometer. The racial the population was composed of 82.19 % White, 1.15 % African American, 0.65 % Native American, 6.68 % Asian, 0.30 % Pacific Islander residents from the and 5.86% percent from other ethnic groups; 3.17% were descended from two or more races. 11.17% of the population were Hispanic or Latino of any race.
