Washington County (Pennsylvania)
The Washington County is a county located in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. In the census in 2010, the County had 207 820 inhabitants and a population density of 93.6 inhabitants per square kilometer. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Washington.
The Washington County is part of the metropolitan area of Pittsburgh.
Geography
The County is located in southwestern Pennsylvania and on the west by West Virginia. In the east it is bounded by the Monongahela River, one of the two sources of the Ohio River. The Washington County has an area of 2,230 square kilometers, of which 10 square kilometers are water surface. It is bordered by the following counties:
History
The Washington County was formed on March 28, 1781 Westmoreland County. It was named after George Washington (1732-1799), the first president of the United States ( 1889-1897 ).

According to the census in 2010 lived in Washington County 207 820 people in 83 608 households. The population density was 93.6 inhabitants per square kilometer.
