Washo language

Washoe ( Washo also ) is an Indian language that is spoken by the Washoe, a people in Nevada and California. Because very few people speak Washo, there is a school in which the language is taught.

The Washoe call their language itself as Wagayay.

Although Washoe is usually counted in the Hokan language family, there is little evidence for this assignment. Linguist keep Washoe for a language isolate.
