History
After secularization in 1803 in Bavaria's favor the former Office of the Prince-Bishopric of Würzburg was ceded in 1805 (Peace of Pressburg ) to Archduke Ferdinand of Tuscany to form the Grand Duchy of Würzburg and fell with him in 1814 in Bavaria.
Incorporations
On 1 May 1978, summarized by the municipal reform Brebersdorf, Burghausen, Greßthal, Kaisten, Rütschenhausen, Schwemmelsbach, water and lots Wülfershausen to a new community water lots. The administrative headquarters is located in Greßthal.

Economy, agriculture and forestry
It was in 1998 according to official statistics in the field of agriculture and forestry 4, in the manufacturing sector and 85 in the area of trade and transport 17 persons work at the workplace. Through the municipality runs the A 7 ( European Route 45) to the junction ( 98) Waterless. From the A 70 and A 71 is the new tangent. The B 303 and state highways in 2293 and 2433 also run through the municipality.
