Wasserschloss Taufkirchen

The moated castle Taufkirchen is a moated castle in Taufkirchen Vils. The castle was first mentioned in 1263 with his owner Grimold of Taufkirchen. Later it was ruled by men of women's mountain. 1544-1672 were the Fugger the owners, which was followed by the Barons of Puech.

In 1917, citizens Taufkirchner a cooperative and bought the castle and brewery. 1919 acquired the land arms Association Oberbayern the castle and estate of Taufkirchen. Five years later it became the Upper Bavarian State Welfare Institution and in 1970 the district hospital.

Since the mid- 1990s cultural events take place in the water lock.

2005 Nico Forster acquired the castle, who died in 2010. By 2010, the castle was renovated and is available to parts of the municipality.

Currently, the municipality Taufkirchen considering to acquire the lock of Forsters Erbengemeinschaft sale.
