Waste book

A waste book is a book in which dirty and quick notes to be made before they are transferred to the Pure; historically proven they are of the merchants, who were quick buying and selling notes in the Waste Book, before they were transferred to the journals.

Become particularly well known are the Waste Books by Georg Christoph Lichtenberg (1742-1799), the aphoristic and Daily wrote in an occasional series. In this tradition Kurt Tucholsky wrote in the period 1928-1935, such a waste book with linguistic ideas, witty remarks and comments of other people, which was published posthumously.
