Wat Doi Mae Pang

Wat Mae Pang ( Thai วัด แม่ ปั๋ง ) is a Buddhist temple ( Wat ) in Chiang Mai province and represents a so-called Forest Temple, represents a temple of the Thai Forest Tradition

Location

Wat Mae Pang is located about 75 kilometers north of Chiang Mai in the district ( Amphoe ) Phrao ( Thai พร้าว ). The temple lies at the foot of the mountain Doi Mae Pang, on top of which is a memorial to Luang Pu Waen.

History and design

Wat Mae Pang gained thereby meaning that it ( หลวง ปู่ แหวน สุจิ ณ ฺ โณ ) had been from 1962 until his death on July 2, 1985, the stay of the highly revered monk Luang Sports Pu Waen Sujinno.

Some years ago a memorial ( Samnak song, สำนักสงฆ์ ) was on the mountain Doi Mae Pang set that bears the name of the mountain, and is known throughout the country under " Wat Doi Mae Pang ".

Many buildings are wooden structures, the Wihan and a cell of a hermit named Rong Yang Rong Kilet or Fai. At Luang Phor Waen Sujinno still remember his living hut ( Kuti ), his image in meditation and a small, square -scale museum with his ashes, a wax model and personal items.
