Wat Pa Ban Tat

Wat Pa Ban Tat (alternative spelling: Wat Pa Baan Taad; Thai: วัด ป่า บ้าน ตาด ) is a Theravada Buddhist monastery ( wat ) in the province of Udon Thani in the Northeast region of Thailand, the so-called Isaan.

Wat Pa Ban Tat itself was founded by the monk - students in the 1950s who came together here for purely spiritual reasons, to receive instructions from an authentic master. Even monks from western countries could be later here ordain, some live here still, others founded in the West like monasteries. Born in England, former vice - abbot Ajahn Pannavaddho died in August 2004. Ajahn Maha Bua Nyanasampanno The abbot died on 30 January 2011.
