Water of Leith

The Water of Leith is the most important river of Edinburgh, Scotland. Its source is located on the slopes of the Pentland Hills in West Lothian above the dam reservoir Harperrig by which it flows. He then meanders throughout Edinburgh from Balerno suburb in the south west to the port of Leith in the north- east of the city, where it flows into the Firth of Forth, 29 km away. Its catchment area covers 117 km ².
