WaterAid

WaterAid [ wɒ təɹeɪd ː ] is an international non-profit organization that promotes worldwide for the supply of clean drinking water and appropriate sanitation facilities as a first measure against poverty. WaterAid was founded on July 21, 1981 the company and employees of the water sector in the UK. Has its headquarters in London society.

WaterAid currently works in 27 African, Asian and Oceanian countries to improve the quality of local water supply and sanitation situation sustainable. In addition, WaterAid represents the interests of poor sections of the population and calls on governments, in their programs for poverty reduction, the supply of clean drinking water and the construction of sanitation facilities to promote a certain degree ( lobbying ).

Finances

In fiscal year 2006/ 07 WaterAid reported grants of 31 million British pounds, with the aim to reach a volume of donations of 35 million by the year 2010.
