Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor

The Waterfront Commission of New York Harbor ( WCNYH ) is a 1953 created intergovernmental agency of the U.S. states of New York and New Jersey. This is waterfront, literally translated coastline, understood primarily in terms of real artificial port facilities ( wharves and piers ) and the associated actions and transactions. The Commission to cross-border fix what is required for safe operation of ports and their ancillary facilities.

The daily business is conducted primarily by two sub- authorities:

  • Division of Licensing / Employment Information Centers ( Office for the licensing of port workers and job placement )
  • Police Division ( This intergovernmental Police Department is responsible for the whole port area. ) Main places there are in Manhattan, Brooklyn (NY ) and Newark, New Jersey.
