Waukon is a small town ( with the status of City) and administrative headquarters of the Allamakee County in the far northeast of the U.S. state of Iowa. In the census in 2010 Waukon had 3,897 inhabitants.

Geography

Waukon is located at 43 ° 16'8 " north latitude and 91 ° 28'45 " west longitude and extending over 7.6 km ², which consist exclusively of land area. The city is located 31.5 km south of the border to Minnesota. The west bank of the Mississippi River, which forms the border with Wisconsin is also located in the east around 30 km from Waukon.
