Wawer

Wawer is a city district of Warsaw, located in the southeast of the city. The Vistula River forms the western boundary of the municipality. Wawer was on 27 October 2002, an independent municipality of Warsaw, before it belonged to the municipality of Praga Południe and before that it was a separate municipality.

Wawer bordered to the north Praga Południe and Rembertów, Wesoła to the east and Wilanów to the west across the Vistula. Wawer is geographically the largest of the districts of Warsaw.
