Wayland Herman Becker ( born November 2, 1910 in Soperton, Wisconsin, USA, † December 1, 1984 in Lena, Wisconsin) was an US- American football player. He played in the National Football League ( NFL).

Playing career

Becker visited in Green Bay high school and studied for his degree at Marquette University. There he played alongside American football basketball. For his athletic achievements, he was awarded twice by his college. Becker ran on as a defensive end and as an end. In 1934, he played for the short term, coached by George Halas Chicago Bears, but changed the course of the season to the Brooklyn Dodgers. In Brooklyn, he was active until 1935. In 1936, he joined the Green Bay Packers. The Packers have had numerous choices for players like Arnie Herber, John McNally and Don Hutson in their ranks. Under Head Coach Curly Lambeau the Packers won this year's NFL championship. In the final they beat the Boston Redskins with 21:6. 1938 saw Becker again the way into the NFL playoff. However, the game was lost against the New York Giants at 23:17. Becker played then in 1939 two more games with the Pittsburgh Pirates and finished his career for the time being. 1941 Wayland Becker ran again for the Columbus Bullies in only two years on existing American Football League. He won the championship with his team and was voted into the All -Star team in the league.
