Wayne Simmonds

Wayne Simmonds ( born August 26, 1988 in Scarborough, Ontario ) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player who is since June 2011 the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Wayne Simmonds began his career as a hockey player with the Toronto Jr. Canadiens, for those in the Greater Toronto Hockey League, he went to the 2004/05 season on the ice. He then completed a season at the Brockville Braves in the Canadian Junior Hockey League, before Simmonds was active for the Owen Sound Attack in the Ontario Hockey League from the 2006/07 season. During this time, he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2007 in the second round than a total of 61 players from the Los Angeles Kings. First, however, he began the 2007/08 season again in Owen Sound, before in December to their league rivals, the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, have been made. Then Simmonds was added to the roster of Kings, for in all 82 games of the regular season, he was in his rookie year in the 2008/ 09 season on the ice. Overall, the Canadian recorded 23 scorer points, including nine goals. On June 23, 2011 Simmonds was transferred along with Brayden Schenn and a second-round vote in the NHL Entry Draft in 2011 to the Philadelphia Flyers, Los Angeles Kings Mike Richards received in return.

Due to the lockout in the NHL Simmonds September to December 2012 for the Eispiraten Crimmitschau in the 2nd Hockey League. In the meantime, he graduated from 22 October some games in the Czech Extraliga for the White Tigers Liberec.

Internationally

For Canada Simmonds took part in the U20 World Youth Championship in 2008, in which he became world champion with his team.
