We are Family is a Bollywood film based on Chris Columbus' side by side with Susan Sarandon and Julia Roberts. These main characters are played in the remake of Kajol and Kareena Kapoor. Was shot mostly in Australia.
Action
Maya is a perfect and loving mother. She never leaves her three children, Aleya, Ankush and Anjali, feel their concerns. With her cheerful nature she exudes the feel of a very happy family, but her divorce with her husband Aman, she never really coped. At the latest when Aman with Shreya, a fashion designer who appears on Anjali's birthday party, Maya breaks dream world.
Shreya, it is also difficult, because as a career woman, she never had the time to deal with children. Also make her the first three do not exactly easy, but she tries to get along well with them.
Well, it turns a shocking confession the family to the test: Maya is ill with cancer. This causes Aman to retract back into the house to support Maya morally. But Maya sees also that a teacher is indispensable for their children. And so she invites Shreya into her home that accepts the offer with thanks.
Over time, however, developed between Shreya and Maya a competition and so it comes to a dispute. Then Shreya leaves the house. Finally, it also comes with Aman to a verbal confrontation, followed by Mayans health deteriorates and she is taken to hospital.
For Festival of Lights ( Diwali ) they may visit their family home, which has prepared a little surprise for them. In a slide show, the most beautiful family memories are called. Last Shreya makes one last family picture. However, before she presses the trigger, Maya asks her to stand by her side, and as Shreya is finally accepted as a family member.
Some years later, Maya and Shreya are Jewellery at Aleya to her wedding - as Maya had wished.

This and That
- Towards the end of filming Kajol was already pregnant, so the dance steps in Dil Khol Ke Let's Rock had to be changed.
- This is after Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham only the second joint film of Kareena Kapoor and Kajol.
