We Care a Lot is the debut album by Faith No More, then on the vinyl release of the album as " Faith. No More ", respectively. It was released in 1985 on the small label based in San Francisco Mordam Records.

Formation and style

We Care a Lot was created after the band had recorded a five track demo complete with its own resources, which got the label founder of Mordam, Ruth Schwartz. Subsequently, the plate was brought out as the first album of the small independent labels. The album title comes from the eponymous song, which was again heard on the successor to Introduce Yourself in a revised version. He criticizes the situation described as hypocritical around the Live Aid benefit festival in the face of the wealth of the participating musicians. Musically are already some of the later trademark of the band, such as catchy riffs, heavier guitars, keyboards and a variety of song structures heard. The voice of the former singer Chuck Mosley was referred to on the album track as a " monotonous " and " colorless". The album was initially released only on LP and Cassette - until 1995 it was released on CD.

The piece We Care a Lot was later used as the theme song of the TV show Dirty Jobs on the Discovery Channel transmitter.

Reception

On the website Allmusic.com Greg Prato described the sound of the debut album by Faith No More, despite some apparent later existing components of the band " not as focused as he will be once ". It 'll clear that the missing part of the puzzle of the singer Mike Patton is later. He missed three out of five stars.
