Weather front

A front is in meteorology an abrupt boundary between different air masses associated with relatively sudden changes in air pressure, temperature and wind direction. Occur here also characteristic changes in cloud formations and weather conditions, the spatial scale of these changes is highly variable and mainly depends on the type of front. Is the front spatially strongly bound, so they shifted hardly or not, it is also called a stationary front. The area in which fronts preferably occur is referred to as frontal zone.
