Web Services Interoperability

WS- Interoperability ( WS-I short- form, full name WS- Interoperability Organization ) is a group of industry partners for the Unification of web service standards. The goal is to achieve Web services interoperability between different platforms. WS-I is not a WS-* specification and any organization that publishes standards. WS-I created called profiles for existing specifications. In addition to the WS-I profiles provides reference implementations and test tools available.

Profiles

There were of different interests and specific tasks developed a variety of Web services specifications (see WS- *). So everyone uses only a part of the specifications, which also can be interpreted any quasi itself. Profiles now add boundary conditions which enable the interoperable use of Web services specifications. The basic structure of the profiles is always the same and they always only restricts existing specifications and soaked conditions to never, so that backward compatibility is always guaranteed.
