Weberstedt is a municipality in Unstrut Hainich in Thuringia. It belongs to the administrative community Unstrut Hainich with seat in the municipality Großengottern.

Geography

Weberstedt is located on the east side of the National Park Hainich.

History

At the beginning of the 9th century Weberstedt is first mentioned in a list of the Archbishop of Lull († 786) of Mainz awarded for the monastery of Hersfeld outdoor goods.

Culture and sights

Castle Gold arable

This emerged from the 1945 expropriated manor of the family of Gold arable property houses today after a basic redesign renovation of a rural hotel, a restaurant with vaulted cellar and beer garden, a conference center with an exhibition on the National Park and a museum about his former life in Thuringia. In cooperation with the local medieval shop Mystic Wolves temporarily exhibitions of medieval weapons are organized.

Church

The church dates from the 15th century Weberstedt. The patron saint is Saint Ulrich. A special glance is a particular color of the carvings on the galleries and on the barrel vault of the nave, which is covered with wood and painted with ornaments. In the church there is an altar shrine, representing the Entombment of Christ. The grave plates of gold Acker family from the 16th and 17th centuries are located on the north and south sides. In addition, the church has an altar- organ, which is unique in its sound.

Outdoor pool

The outdoor pool is completely renovated and equipped with a modern filtration system, which ensures optimal water quality.

Mini-golf course

Immediately after the Castle gold field in the castle grounds is the small sports facility with eighteen tracks in various difficulty levels.
