WeChat (Chinese微 信, Pinyin Weixin, small message ') is a news app for smartphones, developed by Tencent. WeChat was published in January 2011 and now supports traditional and simplified Chinese, English, German, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese. WeChat has over 400 million users, of which about 100 million outside China.

WeChat offers instant messaging to send audio messages, video calls, sharing photos and videos, and sharing of residence and contact information. In addition WeChat has a message stream similar to Facebook's Chronicle. Since 2013 WeChat also has a gaming platform.

Since 2013, the app from Lionel Messi and Rainie Yang is advertised.
