Weddersleben is a district of the town of Thale in the Harz district in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geography

The municipality is located on the northeastern edge of the resin, about three kilometers north-east of the valley on the river Bode, which flows around the place.

History

In Weddersleben there was a Late Bronze Age hillfort.

From 1908 to 1969, was with the railway Blankenburg - Quedlinburg a rail connection to Quedlinburg, Thale and Blankenburg. In 1974, the old station building was shut down and a year later removed the track in the direction of the valley. The coat of arms was approved on 11 May 1998 by the regional council of Magdeburg.

Near Weddersleben is the Devil's Wall, one of the oldest nature reserves in Germany.

According to legend, a shepherd is said to have found an old church bell at the Devil's Wall, which today still hangs in the church tower of Weddersleben.
