Wegscheid (Haut-Rhin)
Wegscheid is a commune with 342 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Haut-Rhin in the Alsace region. It belongs to the district Thann, founded the Canton Masevaux and the 2001 Association of Municipalities Vallée de la Doller et Soultzbach.
Geography
The municipality is located in the southeastern Wegscheid Vosges. The river separates Doller Wegscheid of the Kirchberg, which together form both a closed settlement pattern. The municipality is part of the Regional Natural Park of Ballons des Vosges.
Neighboring communities of Wegscheid are Rimbach- près- Masevaux in the north, Moosch in the northeast, Masevaux and Sickert to the southeast, Kirchberg in the south, Dolleren in the West ( contact point) and Oberbruck in the northwest.
History
The name first appears in documents from the 13th century. In the 19th century, the industrial introduction held.
