Wehlgrund

The Wehlgrund in Saxon Switzerland is a right tributary of the Blackbird reason, between Bastion solid and Little Goose. In the steep walls of rock outcrops forming the upper Talbereichs and match the complex end of the valley there is the romantic and natural scenery of Rathen. The valley is drained by the Wehlgrundbach, which flows into the Green Brook Blackbird ground after a short course above Niederrathen. North of the rock stage at the geese looms the imposing Wehlnadel, in the vicinity are also the Wehltürme. From the Wehlgrund the Rathener staircase leads about 487 steps to the Bastion.
