Wehrshausen is a borough of the university town of Marburg, Marburg- Biedenkopf in Hesse. It has just over 700 residents. To Wehrshausen the district Neuhöfe heard about 1 km south.

Location

Wehrshausen lies about 3 km west of Marburg on the western slopes of the Marburg back in a wooded area. Immediately east of the village was on the ridge, the wine road ( road car ) as a medieval trade route.

History

Wehrshausen was first mentioned in 1254 as Wehrstorf. 1339 founded the Knights Werner Döring a chapel in place of the present church was rebuilt in 1475. From 1330 until the introduction of the Reformation in the country county of Hesse from 1526 Wehrshausen was Marian pilgrimage site.
