Wei Xu

Xu Wei (Chinese魏 续/魏 续, Pinyin Wei Xu ) was a general of the warlord Lü Bu during the late Han Dynasty and the Three Kingdoms period in ancient China.

When in the year 198, the warlord Cao Cao Lü Bu besieged in Xiapi, kidnapped Wei Xu, Hou Cheng and Song Xian Lü bus top advisor Chen Gong and fled. Lü Bu was captured and executed soon caught. Wei Xu's fate is unknown.

In fiction

The figure of Wei Xu receives in the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms by Luo Guanzhong a clearer profile. In Chapter 19, Wei Xu's colleague and friend, Hou Cheng is beaten by Lü Bu, because he had broken the ban on alcohol. The Angry men conspire with Song Xian and betray Lü Bu to Cao Cao.

Under cover of night steals Hou Cheng Lu Bus famous steed Red Hare and rides with him to Cao Cao's camp. When Cao Cao's attack the next morning, Lu Bu personally defended the walls until noon. Then he takes a nap on the ramparts, because he was exhausted. Song Xian and Wei Xu Cao Cao tie him up and show a white flag. Then they threw Lü bus halberd against the walls, and after a short time the city was in Cao Cao's hands.

Chapter 25 Song Xian Yuan Shao's general Yan Liang is killed during the Battle of Baima in a duel. Wei Xu, who wants to avenge his friend is also killed.
