Geography

Geographical Location

The community is centrally located between the cities of Cham, Furth im Wald, Kötzting and forest Munich.

In the municipality following districts exist: Dalking, Habersdorf, Walting, Weiding. Due to the partial incorporations during the regional reorganization of the districts districts with neighboring communities Arnscwhang and Waffenbrunn italics are shared.

History

Weiding was under the sovereignty of the Electorate of Bavaria. Weiding was a part of the closed Hofmark Arnscwhang of the Counts of Toerring - Jettenbach, which was administered in personal union with the törringschen Hofmark Ränkam since 1759 ( until 1801 ). In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community. A village fire on July 25, 1885 destroyed the schoolhouse and church.

Incorporations

On 1 January 1972 parts of the community Habersdorf and on 1 July of the same year were integrated parts of the community Nößwartling. On 1 May 1978, the formerly independent communities Dalking and Walting were incorporated.
