Weiherburgbach

Weiherburg creek upstream of the mouth

The Weiherburg Bach (western pond moat ) arises when abandoned Höttinger quarry above the Alpine Zoo Innsbruck, at 730 m above sea level and flows south to the Inn. It reaches a length of 1.5 kilometers and lies entirely within the city limits.

The creek itself arises from the Bank of Höttinger breccia, which is eponymous for the old geographical names on the gray stone of the castle hunger.

He feeds the zoo with fresh water, which is collected in a reservoir scale. The remaining water flows on to the high road, where the creek flows into the Inn.

The grade of the creek is I-II. Due water consumption by the zoo in the creek carries little water in the lower reaches.
