History

Finds from the Neolithic period and the Bronze Age, including prehistoric grave mounds, illustrate the early settlement of the fertile stretch of land between the Isar valley and the Danube region. The history of the church begins with the conquest of the area south of the Danube by the Romans in the year 15 BC. The next 500 years there was the province of Raetia.
